So~So's
I've been checking the So~So's blog for a few weeks now and have been intending to post up some of their stuff but the shot above was the trigger to do it now. Here are a few of the others I was taken with:
I'd been following the Fast Eddies blog but must have missed the transition and was stoked to see the torch still being run with.
Flying Spaghetti Monster
Gotta love a group that embraces their hate mail as much as Pastafarians of the Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster!
A few more ideas to add to the potential tattoo file, along with the celestial teapot, and the Darwin fish.

Draplin Design
Great source of crisp graphic design and varied randomness, such as Stapler of the week, and Suspicious Vans:

It's On!
The lake is dry for the first time in three years and it's go! Lake Gairdner Speed Trials 2009. I'll be there helping out and I can taste the dust, see the haze, feel the flies, smell the fumes, and hear the roar already.

Tape Dog
Just saw this on the Wilson Brothers blog, I love stuff like this, ingenious solutions to obscure problems. I spied a similar contraption for laying down the track at derby the other day but didn't have the camera on had for a snap, I will rectify this soon.

Merry John Frum Day
Today various South Pacific communities will be preparing for the return of their mysterious spiritual leader; John Frum, just as they do on the 15th February every year.
There is an interesting article in the Smithsonian Magazine about these followers and many others like them, there is also some discussion of these "Cargo Cults" in Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion.

Obey
This first hand account of the event surrounding Shepard Failey's arrest in Boston reads like an episode of Law & Order.

Unloading: Bikes
The HFL guys were (justifiably) tearing shreds into the Victory Core for it's claims to be a "performance cruiser" despite it's lack of rear suspension, and the boasts about break-through technology which is in fact centuries old. The criticisms are certainly justified, but it's a factory concept: it's primary function is to create noise in the press and the public and it's doing that quite well. Plus I happen to think it looks pretty good (if not performance orientated or ground-breaking).
