
This may speak about me more than anything else but the things I first took notice of in this photo of Times Square in '61 was 2m high "two trouser suits" sign and the amazing condition of the road. If you've ridding NYC recently I'm sure you'll share my astonishment.

I noticed that the store is actually Woolworth's - back when businesses owned the bricks and mortar in which their establishments are situated. Even in the heart of capitalism, real estate mogul-ism still hadn't taken grasp even back in '61.
I clearly wasn't there, but a simpler time it must have been. Well aside from the whole constant threat of nuclear war...
