This from XKCD* reminded me of this third interpretation of the glass is half full problem.
* The other night I was doing the classic beer and pizza with some polo crew when this came up in conversation, 4 of the 6 people there had already seen it. Not sure what that says about me, my friends, polo people, or nerds in general.
