Polo. Seriously?

Are you....?
As I'm just about to embark on a 9 hour road trip to play polo in Melbourne it seems I might be.

Basic Belly Tanker

This has to be one of the most pared down little tankers I've seen.

What's green, furry, and smalls like pork......?

Pencil display cases from aurora display case via The Projectivist.
I'd think that if I were to do this, one row would be graded by shade, the next row would be graded by length, who really has so many unused pencils around?

Pencil Colour Wheel found on Studio Schmookie

I started doing this as just the pencil derived pieces but found these images in the archive and couldn't leave them out:

One of my polo team mates threw this together after some discussion about team names. We're still in talks.

Ring of Fire

To all the Melbournites (I'm talking to you Punk), be sure to get on your bike (MTB, roady, 10 speed, fix, BMX, unicycle, penny-farthing) and join Sasha for the Pony Bikes supported Ring of Fire alleycat on Saturday night.
I had intended to race/ride this as I'll be over for polo the following weekend but my ride over was rescheduled, majorly disappointed I assure you!

Contained Inspiration.

One of my favourite blogs is without a doubt Le Container, for some reason I was prompted to put up a pretty random selection of images stolen from them.

Great idea but looks like it could be a little painful.

There is even video of it happening!

As a rule tyres should be black, but this works for me.

Deus V-Twin Cafe

Those lads with the magic touch over at Deus have done it again, this time with a late HD base. So many aspects of this bike are just spot on like the front guard, lights, bars, and the air cleaner is a perfect example of using what it there, just adding some minor touches and coming out way in front.

It's a pity about the rear though, it just needs more of an arse! I'm the last guy around that will be talking about building to the "rules" of a catagory as a positive thing, but in this case a traditional "cafe" tail, or a longer seat, more of the guard, hell, even just mounting the number plate of the end would have helped it. Still, it shows that you don't need to get too extravagant to build something very impressive!

Death Race Corvette

The Van post brought the Death Race 2000 Covette to light, it's just too good not to share.

Andreas Jakwerth Photography

Not sure if it's purely down to the skills of a brilliant photographer, or the eye of someone seeing such foreign sights, but I got linked onto Andreas Jakwerth's photography site via Fyxomatosis and was just amazed at the photos on there. They really capture the beauty of the locations.

It Would Have Been Cooler as a Van

Can anyone help me fill in the gaps here? Top to bottom, left to right:

Back to the Future (Delorian), Ghost Busters (Cadillac), Dukes of Hazzard (Charger)
Transformers (Optimus Prime), National Lampoons (Wagoneer), Speed Racer (Mach 5)
Herby (Bug), Starsky and Hutch (Torino), Blues Brothers (Dodge)
Toy Story (Thanks Punk, Chris), Wayne's World (Pacer), Pee Wee's Bike (thanks n8diggy214)
Top Gun?, Maximum Overdrive (thanks Jeff), Death Race 2000 (Corvette, thanks Anon)
Thomas The Tank Engine, Monkees (GTO), Batman
KITT (Trans AM, thanks Bortwein), Grease (Ford), Titanic.

Some of those are questionable at best.

Edit: I'm adding them as we go.

Adelaide Matters

We [as Two Halves] did a brief interview and shoot for Adelaide Matters last week, it came out a few days ago. Not really a fan of the photo, but I rarely am of my likeness.

Prohab Helmet Callender

Vancouver based helmet promotional coalition Prohab have released a calender to raise funds to help their cause of helmet education. If the fire-fighters can do it, then surely it good enough for us cyclists to raise some awareness while celebrating the bike girls.

This 'A roadster-pickup (nope, no idea) based creation is certainly in the running for the most evil rod out there.

I've been fascinated with tiny dwellings of late; I long for the day I've settled down enough to finally build the shipping container based creation I keep rebuilding in my head and on paper. For now I'll just continue to gather information and inspiration.

This triple story home was built in Cambridge, MA by Uni Architects

Each floor features what have to be some of the coolest sky-lights out there.

Kustom Van

I'd love to see this built, the Citroen (?) Peugeot DB3 base would make a nice change from the usual VW or Econolines.
